Respect Our Wrecks

Message from the Webmaster:
Sorry, some of the links on this page are no longer valid. Whilst this issue no longer carries the prominence it did in 2001 when this page was put together, Bristol Channel Divers are firm advocates of the aims of Wreck Respect and have written our policy of not distrubing the wrecks upon which we dive into the club constitution.

Attention is again being drawn to the unwelcome actions of a minority of divers who insist on removing items from wrecks when diving around the UK coastline. This time, however, the issue has taken on much more momentum and there is a very real danger that wreck diving will be banned. This is not something which will go away if we ignore it. Everyone who enjoys diving wrecks or would like to dive wrecks has a duty to examine this issue, inform themselves of the facts surrounding the argument and then take whatever action they feel appropriate. There have been two Early Day Motions tabled in the Commons which have attracted a lot of attention so you may wish to write to your MP and make your feelings known. Before you do so, check out the links below to familiarise yourself with the issues and what is being done about this very real threat to our sport.

Following is some information surrounding this case:

What can you do?

DON'T TAKE STUFF FROM WRECKS -
RESPECT OUR WRECKS AND THOSE WHO DIED ON THEM!
